Harlan F. Jarvis (1932-1994) of Faribault, MN was a multi-talented artist. As a young man, Harlan was slated to enter the family refrigeration business, but he had other plans. His uncle, Bill Jarvis of Owatonna, inspired Harlan with his ability to paint, carve wood and engrave designs in metal at Josten’s Inc.
Harlan learned much from his uncle and became an artist who injected a creative flair into everything he touched, whether it was lettering signs, doing pencil drawings, painting colorful wall murals, or carving jack-o-lanterns.
